Victorian Greenhouse FAQ
What is the difference between the Royal and Junior Victorian?
The Royal Victorian is the larger, taller model, with 6'7" side walls and sizes up to 13'x20'. The Junior Victorian is a narrower 8' wide design and a more affordable way into a Victorian glass greenhouse.
Is a Victorian greenhouse good in cold climates?
Yes, with a heater for the coldest nights. Glass holds less heat than thick polycarbonate, so in snowy areas consider the hybrid roof option. See our guide on how to heat a greenhouse without electricity.
Do I need a foundation?
Yes. The Royal Victorian includes a 4¼" foundation frame, but it still needs a level, solid base such as concrete or block. Our greenhouse foundation guide covers the options, including stem walls.
Can I swap sliding doors for hinged doors?
Yes. Hinged doors can be ordered as an upgrade with your greenhouse, and the manufacturer will send them in place of the sliding doors. Hinged doors are required if you build on a stem wall.
Is a Victorian greenhouse a kit?
Yes. Each Victorian greenhouse arrives as a complete kit with step-by-step instructions. Many owners build their own, and our assembly crews page lists crews past customers have used. We are not affiliated with any of them.
How is it delivered?
By freight truck, curbside. Shipping is free to mainland US addresses. Please let us know if your street cannot take a large truck.
